    Yamaha RD400 Head O ring Conversion
     
    This is the conversion service for RD400 cylinder heads from gasket to o-ring as per most more modern machines.
     
    Please note this is a SERVICE only and DOES NOT INCLUDE CYLINDER HEAD
    This price is for machining the head and supply of a full set of o-rings
     
    Having o-ringed cylinder heads has certain advantages:
    • O-rings do not need changing every time you take the head off
    • Heat transfer between head and cylinder are significantly improved
    • Squish clearance is more consistent
    • Higher combustion chamber pressures can be accommodated
    • Far less chance of a leaking water jacket
    • Replacement o-rings are cheaper than replacement head gaskets
     
    If your cylinders or heads have been skimmed or your porting modified in any way then we will need the following accurate dimensions to ensure that the machining is correct:
    • Distance from piston crown edge to cylinder gasket face at TDC
    • Distance from cylinder top gasket face to top of exhaust port
     
    Clearly if you have made radical changes such as changing piston type, bore diameter, fuel used or similar you will have to let us know and give us the details for these changes. Please add these improtant details to the notes when purchasing our product
     
    You are responsible for the shipping of the head to us. The head must be well wrapped and include a copy of your order conformation inside.
     
    We can repair almost any damage to a cylinder head however there may be extra charges invloved, for more informationeither give us a call or send pictures via the contact us page.
