SUZUKI GT750 / TR750 Water pump gear & sleeve kit
Includes:
Water pump primary (dished) and secondary (flat) gears
Taper adjuster (sleeve) from GT to TR taper / size
Keys for both the primary gear to taper changer and taper changer to ignition rotor.
Seal for outside of taper changer / inside ignition casing
Bearing for magnesium ignition casing
Aluminium nut for end of crank
These are steel water pump drive gears as featured on the TR750. They allow the much slimmer and lighter magnesium ignition cover to be fitted (available in two styles). The gears were made of steel to prevent them from breaking up which is a known issue even on the standard 65hp road bikes.
The taper changer allows the original TR ignition to be mounted as well as either the more modern and totally adjustable Zeeltronic ignition (parts available separately) & the HPI / Electrex self-generating ignitions.
Due to the age / wide tolerance of manufacture of the water pump drive shafts it is necessary to hone the inside of the flat gear carefully to size so that it can be pressed on to the shaft. This is a tricky operation requiring the heating of the secondary gear, professional honing equipment and care to keep the gear square whilst this is being assembled.
We strongly recommend that you send us your water pump drive shaft and allow us to offer you an exchange service with shafts which we have already assembled with the secondary drive gear.
Most of the exchange shafts have had at least one of the two bearings replaced.
