The original GT500 head bolts and nuts weigh 1.2 KG (approx)
These weigh only 330g a saving of over a kilo!
This may not sound like an enormous amount of weight saving on its own but shaving off weight from each item ends up with a significant difference to the sum mass.
The head nuts are made from 2014 aluminium, drilled right through to save weight and are black anodised to prevent corrosion and improve the look.
Another great advantage of having these nuts and bolts is that they will not corrode in the holes and jam the barrels on! GT barrels are well known for being fiendishly difficult to remove - often requiring a special removal plate, major heat, several men and a large hammer.
