KIPS VALVE TURNING WHEELS / ARMS & TITANIUM LINKAGE KIT SET
CNC machined hard aluminium improved replacement for discontinued items and titanium lightweight non corrosive replacement linkages
Save 5% on buying each kit separately.
These KIPS control wheels have been discontinued by Kawasaki for some time and the original's lightweight cast aluminium is prone to wearing on the shaft (oval hole) and wearing/breaking off the part that holds the cable barrel in place.
After some pressure from our customers we have re-drawn and CNC machined these KIPS control wheels in-house from HE15 (2014) for the outer arms and HE30 (6082) for the centre wheels.
The aluminium is much tougher than the originals and these have subtle design modifications to make them longer lasting. Anodised clear you can tell that they are the real deal.
We've stamped them with numbers from 1 to 4 to assist in correct assembly (numbered from left to right as sat on the bike), and the no3 wheel has the timing mark on the side so that they can be set up correctly as per the originals. Note only one photo shows the completed wheels anodised.
Please note that the linkage repair kit shown is included in this price!
Let's keep these bikes on the road and causing trouble!
In the photo of the head from directly above you can see the control wheels loosely assembled on KIPS valves with the linkage repair kit. The timing mark on no3 wheel is to line up with the witness casting on the head (centre left of picture). Note the wheels in this photo are not yet anodised - the ones you get will be as per the main listing picture.
The stainless steel ball joints screw directly into the control wheels, the shafts are titanium.
This includes all the parts you need, including the stainless steel countersunk allen screws that hold the wheels on to the power valve shafts. We recommend that you apply a thin smear of copper ease or grease under the countersunk screw heads and to the threads prior to assembly.
The shafts themselves are adjustable with M3 thread, left and right hand for ease of adjustment, with a 2mm cross drilling for adjusting them whilst in place.
Correct lengths for the assembled units are 52.8mm and 58mm
