Product Description
SUZUKI TR750 MAGNESIUM IGNITION SIDE CASINGS, COVERS, AND GROMMETS
These are as original lightweight copies including part numbers!
Please note the oil plug shown in the main picture is not included.
An essential part for anybody making a TR750 replica, renovation or to upgrade their GT750 with lightweight components as per the F1 750 class of the day - the equivalent to MotoGP today.
These parts are lightweight magnesium castings and weigh only 354g (type 2) / 498g (type 1). The GT casing weighs in at a hefty 1.8kgs!
Of course this makes the whole machine considerably slimmer and allows for the fitting of the race fairing.
Here you are buying one of the two types of ignition casing, a magnesium ignition cover and a grommet to match.
Included in the price is a magnesium ignition cover shown in the photos on the 'Type 1' casing and which weigh in at only 172g!
WHICH IS WHICH TYPE 1 & TYPE 2?
Type 1 has the full circle casting where the ignition cover goes on - the type2 only has posts where the bolts attach it.
You will notice that the later version has a shorter (and lighter) oil filler than the earlier version shown in the photos. Other than styling and weight the covers are interchangeable and do not affect any other component.
Of course to complete the look of the package is the rubber grommet which holds the ignition wires as they pass between the ignition cover and casing.
These rubbers not only help to hold the wires in the correct place and help prevent the risk of shorting the ignition wires against the casing they also have original part numbers and help to make the project look complete.
